One of the very first things newly engaged couples have to decide about is the date of their wedding. So how to set a date for your wedding? For some, it is a very easy decision to make. They simply go to the wedding venue of their choice and pick the easiest available date. But for others, it’s a little bit more complex than that.
Gone are the days when couples only choose days in the month of June which is known as the wedding month. In fact, many other months have overtaken the month of June as the popular wedding month of the year. These days, couples become more creative. They choose dates depending on how special that date is for them or sometimes for no reason at all.
There are also couples who would choose dates simply because they look good on invites. There were so many weddings that took place on December 12, 2012, just because it’s the last time one can get three identical numbers for their wedding date – 12/12/12 – this century. And so others would choose other pretty looking numbers for their wedding date such as for this year, February 2 and 20 were popular choices because they look like this – 02/02/20 and 02/20/20.
Some couples would choose a wedding month based on the season. Others dream about having a summer wedding while others would opt for winter weddings. There are also some couples who would choose a date that’s significant to them such as the birthday of the bride or the groom, their anniversary as a couple, and so on.
Truth be told, how to set a date for your wedding differs for everybody. What’s important is how you prepare for and celebrate your special day. The date doesn’t matter for as long as you are looking forward to being with the one you love for the rest of your life.
