Well, for one thing, fireball won't be a problem as they are shamanism fire spells.
As for the topic, Lina has a strong connection with the Lord of nightmare, who is beyond good and evil, as she created both the Mazoku lord and god of each world. Then, there is the fact that she never actually call upon the power of a mazoku to kill himself, always on the power of a mazoku above him, witch make sens since internal fighting/killing is culturally acceptable for the mazoku kind. Each dark lord strugle for power, and by calling upon one of his rival, it is possible to slay their kind with dark power.
An other point that would raise is that Mazoku are being with complex mind and plots that would seem illogical to human, but it is possible that Shabranigdo allow his power to Lina for a reason. (after all, she cause a lot of negative energy with it.)
But it IS true tough, the more high level mazoku disapear, the fewer black magic spells are avaliable. For exemple, Zel & Lina's Gaav Flare aren't usable anymore.
But my guess is that a skilled black magic user lacking the dark lord to call upon could chanel the negative energy flowing trough the world to shape their own spells, dark lord are but a transmetor, the energy exist with and without them.
