And Lina has come back home twice already, at least. Once, in her travels, she found a magic sword and gave it as gift to her sister. And after the Rezo saga, she came back again and found "Spot" there (Gourry is not mentioned in this event, so even if he was there, I don't think it would be like the scene in novel 15, when it's Gourry who suggest to go visit Lina's home).

Where was this information? I looked at the English translated novels 1-6 again last night and didn't see it. Was it in a Kanzaka interview? The Dilgear as "Spot" with Luna came from that eyecatch as much as I can remember. Several fanfics have used that and had Lina come home to see "Spot", but I don't recall it ever being a canon happening.

Likewise I haven't been able to find the sword for Luna event either. Was it in one of the not yet translated to English Special (Naga with Lina) novels?

In fact, neither of those events "take place". Kanzaka just talks about them in several atogaki (afterword), especially in the Slayers Special #8 atogaki, which happens to be bigger than the others, and there he reveals a lot of curious things.

You should look this up to gather a lot of this extra info:

I remember reading somewhere that Lina's mother was a sorceress and her father was a swords man. (Kinda like Gourry and Lina ne?) And that her mother taught Luna and Lina magic. Cause I thought Luna was a sorceress as well. I don't know.

Then I remember reading in a summary of the thing where Gourry met Linas father right before he met Lina, her dad says Luna taught her something in swordsmanship and Lina taught him something to do with Magic. Cause at this point he was telling Gourry about his daughters.

But then Ive heard that Luna is more powerful than Lina when it comes to magic but fears it or something? Or at least this was speculated in the Anime during TRY.

As for Lina learning magic. I know in one of the novels from 1-6 (cause thats all thats been in English and therefore all I can read) Lina mentions going off to study magic with a "teacher" when she was an apprentice sorceress. This was before she left home to go traveling like we see her do with Naga before Gourry.

Hmm... is it the regular novels that have more information in them about Luna. Like when Gourry suggests Lina go home in novel 15, which novel series is that? And is there a place online where they are fan translated into english?

Yep, Kanzaka said Lina's father was a swordman/mercenary (as Gourry) and Lina's mother was a sorceress (as herself), and that they work now in a grocery store in Zefeel, Zefiria's capital. But he never mentioned Luna learning magic; he just says Luna is skilled in sword-fighting, and that Lina went to a "magic school" (Zefiriwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry :3) in a near city, I think it was.

Sometimes we get more information in the Afterwards thatn in the novels themselves =/ specially in the Special novels' Afterwards, since there Kanzaka talks more about a pre-Slayers Lina, and probably Luna is mentioned more than once, as well as other events, like Lina returning home and finding Dilgear/Spot there.

P.S.: Nop, there's no one single website fantranslating any of the novels ._. QP/Diana used to translate a bit, and she did it with novel 3, but when TokyoPop licensed them, she droped the project =/ right now she just have a few battles translated from the novel 13; and besides that, Tokitama translated the entire novel 9 and part of the 10th.

if I knew how to draw more or less OK, I would want to make a kind of doujinshi, but that's more a dream than reality xD

I wish I could *_* I'm trying to learn Japanese, but that will take years xP right now I just can more or less read hiragana, katakana and kanjis with furigana, and with the help of a dictionary-translator program, I done that manga of "The Road of the Ring" and right now I'm translating the "Maburaho VS Slayers!?" stories ^^

"Lost Slayers" is the name of my Slayers site, which is in Spanish, but I want to start translating it into English ^^ since in the last years I'm recolecting some news and information that aren't in any Slayers English sites, and the more people know about Slayers, the more the fandom will be alive =)

Hey if you write it Ill draw it and you can screen tone it! Ive always wanted to make a doushijn but im aweful at screen toneing.

Yeah same with me. I can read Hiragana and Katakana and Kanji with Furigana. Problem is, that doesnt mean I know what they're saying, lol. Weve started learning Kanji in class but UGH they can be used and pronounced so many differnt way part of me wants to scream out in thew middle of class "whats the point!" xD
I was just wondering cause lots of people here seem to have read them and I was just wodnering how and if they could let me in on their secret... T.T

Sweet. I cant wait tell its in English. It looks awesome.

oh, but they used to be warriors?
that would make a great prequel!

Infact id really like to see Linas back story
like growing up, goin to the academy and learning magic.

is this covered in the mangas or the novels?

I don't know if this is mentioned, but did you ever get the feeling that maybe their parents had "favorites". I know its not too uncommon for parents to side with one child over the other, like the mom favorited Lina and the Dad to Luna, because the dad's a swordsman and the mom is a sorceress (well they're Ex- anyway)

just a thought really. maybe they mention their parents in the new series

that's easy to say (for those who have watched it, of course xD): nop =/ nothing related to Lina's family is even remotely mentioned in neither Revo nor Evo (even Luna doesn't appear in the openings, just in the eyecatcher of the last episode)
